  • Teen cruising down the highway- shows the use of gas as a fossil fuel
  • Smokestack of a factory/plant- shows the pollution given off into the air from manufacturing
  • a girl putting on hairspray- shows the chemicals being released as gasses into the air
  • ice melting- shows the effect on the earth
  • Trees- the niceness of trees

#1 is the best one because it relates to us, as a generation and what we’re doing

Remember, these are visual METAPHORS. The idea is that the image stands for something larger than the thing itself. I like the car, too, but the metaphor would be something like “this one car represents the millions of cars that pollute the air everyday.” So how could you show that in a brief visual clip?

The car is good, but I like the factory too; it almost represents a broader range of dangerous activities, including the use of fossil fuels. I’m impressed by the variety of your images. It seems like you’ve learned a lot about global warming in a short time.

Thanks, to both of you! And, Mr. Landow, that is mainly what I was going for…I guess I didn’t explain that very well. Sorry!
