What I’ve Learned…

When we started making this documentary, I was not very excited about our topic, but after doing ample research and lots of talking to people about it, I am extremely educated on the topic and am much more involved in stopping it. I have become much more aware of what pollution is and how it is directly and indirectly caused. I have learned that making a documentary is much like writing a paper, only a lot harder because it can only be worked on at certain times and on certain computers. Blogging is not a new thing to me, but I had never thought of blogging as a class before now, and it is very cool to be able to communicate with people all over the world for your homework. I’m glad we chose this topic and everyone I know now is an expert on global warming causes and effects!

Expert Interview Numero Dos for Effects on Our Generation

Tonight, Jenny and I traversed all the way down to Washington University (oh so far away! :P ) to interview our group’s second expert, Kelley Greenman.  Ever since I began working on getting this interview in place, I thought it would for sure be interesting and educating, but I never imagined it would be this much fun!

Kelley was one of the sweetest girls I have ever met, and so incredibly personable.  She was very willing to share any needed information and do whatever was necessary for us to have the best interview possible and did her best to teach us things that aren’t widely known.  For example, did you know that eating meat, poultry, fish, and eggs contirbutes to Global Warming??  Crazy, huh?

While being professional, well educated in the subject, and mature, Kelley was also very much a kid.  She was extremely easy to get along with and related to Jenny and I very well.  This was certainly an interview I won’t soon forget. Thank you Kelley for this wonderful opportunity, and thanks to our drivers, Mrs. Pomerantz and Mrs. Rosen!

Getting There…(reflection on progress so far)

So far, my research on this subject has changed my mind and really surprised me.  I’ve learned that there are actually good things about GW, in that the warming of the air and oceans can prevent devastating hurricanes like Katrina from occurring in the future.  On the other hand, it is also causing floods due to the increased amount of rain and melting major areas of ice such as Greenland, the Ant-arctics, and the Ice Caps.  Based on much of what I’ve learned, the focuz of my segment should still be the effect of GW on our generation, but more specifically, we should concentrate on….to be continued…
