Thanks for being such a leader on this project. It sounds like you have really taken what you've learned and shared it with others.

I hope you have a terrific summer. Take care.

ALrighty...well, a visua metaphor is a picture or video clip used to represent something more complex. For example, in our segment, we have a visual metaphor of the Carbon Footprint of teenagers. Instead of doing something like drawing a footprint mad eof carbon, or something like that, we are having a short, two second clip of someone walking over a Hollister bag in a puddle, leaving a footprint on it. Many teens today shop at Hollister, and many teens litter, too, so we figured that this would be a great way of addressing the Carbon Footprint they leave.

Kelley Greenman is one of the nicest people I have ever met! We interviewed her last night (I talk about that in my next blog) and it was a blast. She is a Major in Ecology at Washington University in St. Louis, MO and she really does know her stuff! You should take a look at my blog about our interview, because it tells about some of the interesting things we learned from her.

Some people had very traditional answers. "I think about Global Warming a lot." "I try not to drive my car as much." Things like that. But, our first question is directly about the effects of Global Warming, and the last man we interviewed, right off the bat, came back with "So, I guess you're asuming that I actually BELIEVE in Global Warming?" It was a challenging interview, because it was going a bit against what we knew and what information we had, but it turned out well. I'm glad we snagged that one.
It was a bit awkward approaching random strangers on the street, but our group worked together finding and flagging down people to interview, so it all worked out.

Well, it's really all in the production and transportation of the food. We burn fossil fuels in order to get it to consumers ready to eat, and that is our wonderful contribution to Global Warming. It's odd, because it's something you would never even think of. Quite an interesting way we're harming our planet, isn't it?

Okay, you've hooked my interest. How in the world does eating meat, poultry, fish, and eggs exacerbate global warming?

Please put the title of the article in the link instead of the whole URL--it is more meaningful to the reader.

Also, don't forget the response part--that is just as important as the summary.

What kinds of things did the people say? How did you feel while you were approaching people? How did your group work together?

Can you be more specific about the visual metaphors? Explain it for someone who will not see it. Also, explain who Kelly Greenman is. . . you might even want to link to the NPR story about her in your blog :-)
